Weighing in Important News Update!
How To Weigh In.
YOU WILL WEIGH IN ONCE FOR BOTH GI AND NO GI. ***** ALL WEIGH INS ARE DONE WITH YOUR FIGHT SHORTS AND RASH GUARD OR SHORTS AND A T-SHIRT.
We are getting a lot of confusion because we are introducing something new. I have changed this because of some of your suggestions. I had someone email me about recalculating the weight divisions for the weight of the gi. This way all of you can stay in the same weight divisions for both gi and no gi. Because we do not have a strict dress code at this time, some of you may be wearing a single weave or a double weave gi. This can be a huge difference when you are on the border line in the weight divisions. We want the same weight division accros the board. So another wards, if you pick middle weight for gi, then you should be middle weigh for no gi too.
So we have made these changes for 2 reasons.
1. To keep you in the same weight class for both gi and no gi.
2. To speed up the time it takes to weigh in by only weighing once for both gi and no gi divisions.
Note: If you are just doing the gi division, please weigh in with your fights short and rash guard or shorts and a t-shirt.
Bottom line it is about how much YOU weigh. In the future if we should change our dress code, I will recalculate the weight of the gi to better your chances of staying in the same weight class for both gi and no gi divisions. We do have a dress code so please review them on the printed rules. Ultimately our tournament is about you, so your input counts! Please feel free to email me on your views whether you like these changes or not. I will try to go with the majority in the future. Just a quick heads up, Oct 17th might be a Reason Gracie tournament and if that does happen, we will be going with the Gracie rules.
