We like to thank all the participants for making October 17th 4th US National Cup Breast Cancer Charity Tournament a great event.
We like to thank everyone who help supported the 4th US National Cup, our first breast cancer charity event. Being the first charity event, it was a real learning curve. We have come up with solutions, ideas and also learned a new way to bracket. So to make a long story short, it will improve our future events.
Our Guest Stars
We like to give special thanks to our guest stars who came out to help support the event. They had donated their time for free to help support breast cancer. Thanks for taking the time to come out and support such a worthy cause!! Unfortunately the room that we were going to use for them was under construction so we had to reinvent the tournament layout. Because of that, it was difficult to get the booth up for them as we had planned. But our stars were troopers and hung out on the main floor with the competitors.
So special shout out to Relson Gracie, Cris Cyborg, Frank Lester, Cameron Dollar and Richard Whitson. Also a shout out to War Machine who wanted to come down to support the event but could not make it.

Jack Nicholson
If any of you saw Jack Nicholson walking around, that was another one of our special guest. He is actually impersonates Jack Nicholson for events and other social gatherings. Thanks for coming down and donated your time to help support breast cancer.

Rose Gracie Gracie Tournaments
We also want to thank Rose Gracie as she helped us with getting some of the stars to the event. Not only did she help us with our stars, she jumped in to help speed up the tournament because we were behind from the construction, and shorthanded on staff who did not make it because of the flu. The cool thing is the kids got to experience something new. One of the parents came up to us to tell us that their child just had one of the best and toughest matches ever. We also had parents who told us they liked the way we usually bracket as weight is very important to them. So because of this, we are going to be doing both styles of bracketing. This will be for the kids and teen division only.
1. We will start off with RMBJJF bracketing system with the kids and teens, which also means everyone will have to weigh in.
2. We will use Rose Gracie's way of bracketing which we are calling it the kids Absolute division. All kids need to be grouped by age, skill and size. We will have extra staff with this to make it go quick and painless.
The great thing about adding both styles to the kids and teens division are:
On the first round they will be in a strict weight class, but it may also mean a smaller division for them.
On the second round will be a larger division with tougher matches.
This is awesome and ideal opportunity if your child wants to compete at the Worlds, etc. The new kids absolute divisions will give the kids and teens more fights and another chance for a medal. We are happy to have a cool way to finally bring the absolutes to the kids and teens. Thank you Rose Gracie!!!!!

BreastCancer.org Donations
We collected $ in the donations can. But we will collect more in the future charity events as they are a learning curve too.
We haven't had time to work on our profit and expense sheet yet to see how much will be going to breastcancer.org. Tournaments have become expensive to run and the economy has hit the tournament industry too. Medals and shirts have gone up, etc. But RMBJJF will give a minimum of $2,000 to breastcancer.org. Will let you know the total amount as soon as we can.
BCBK Breast Cancer Ladies
We like to thank both of the BCBK breast cancer ladies who came out to help support the charity event. Unfortunately due to going through chemo recently their immunities is down so they both got the swine flu and Nadine Chance also pneumonia. We will think of something special to say thank you to you two who are also fighters too.
Competitors, spectator and staff.
And of course we want to thanks all of you in making this event possible. We are excited about 2010 tournaments as we enjoy thinking of new features, prizes and ways to make the events special to you. Best regards, RMBJJF
